The celebration continued after lunch.. and we went to Pennypickle's Workshop Children's Museum in Old Town Temecula.... what an awesome place for kids, big and little! I had never been and was as excited to all the things too! It's all about science and learning for the kids.. they've made it all fun and hands-on learning...
All the rooms have different themes.. when we ducked under here
it was like being inside a Kaleidoscope....
there we were surround by us!!!
The Professor's assistant made Brayden a special Birthday Hat
and announced his big day to everyone!
His favorite experiment was the floating beach ball..
he had to pump the peddle (see his foot) and the more
he did the ball would go higher into the air...
Next was a ride in a hot air balloon basket...
well, we didn't take off, but he got to drive at least!!
Jerry would have loved this place... it's part antique museum...
so many old fashion gadgets.. clocks and woodworking and really cool things...
Here the teachers did a science experiment for us...
they put "pop rocks" into a coke bottle and sealed it
with a balloon... as the rocks crackled and created "gas"
it filled up the balloon with air....
just don't try this at home!
Here Brayden's turning the recycling machine..
crushing aluminum cans flat getting them ready to recycle...
In the music room he played sooo many instruments...
Lot of gears and switches and gadgets....
and instead of "do not touch" signs... the kids were
encouraged to do it all!
This was an experiment we got to do to learn about Earthquakes...
we stacked up the wooden blocks as sturdy as we could...
pushed the button and waited to see if an earthquake would
knock over our stack.... it sure did!
In the kitchen Brayden learns about balance and gravity...
stacking graham crackers as high as he could without falling.
I couldn't help but notice this old fridge...
this is what mine should look like..
maybe I'd be able to lose those ten pounds I've been fighting lately...
Everywhere you turned there was something to do...
and lessons to learn...
If you're even up in Temecula.. ya gotta check it out...
