Happy Fall Y'all

Happy Fall Y'all.. I thought I'd start out by saying that to get you in the Fall mood cuz who can believe it's really Fall and September is on it's way out already... amazing!...... now use your imagination when you see this darling Spring basket of yellow daffodils... picture it done in autumn colors (maybe Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie) .. now wouldn't that be perfect for your holiday table decorations or just to give to someone special as a cheerful reminder of what they mean to you!

It's a great 3D project created by
Allison at Sweet Impressions blog.

She used typing paper (does anyone have any of that stuff anymore??) to trace one side of the basket and then used that as a guide to cut out pieces from Gumball Green cardstock. Each side is done separately so you'll cut out four pieces.

Before she glued the Gumball cardstock to the basket, she created the lattice-looking lines using Early Espresso. Create the lattice by first scoring at 3/4" increments in both directions, then folding along each score line. While one line is folded, run the line through a Versamark ink pad. After unfolding, heat emboss with Early Espresso Embossing Powder... is that clever or what???

The flowers were created using the Floral Frames framelits and Boho Blossom punch. She wrapped the handle with Daffodil Delight Seam Binding ribbon and added Early Espresso Taffeta ribbon over the top.

To get the grass and flowers to "stand up" instead of just flopping around, cut a piece of cardstock and use an exacto knife to cut little random slits. Then just poke the grass through the slits! The 'platform' that is holding the grass is just set into the basket... it isn't actually attached to anything.

Like I said... clever!!!

No More Horsing Around....

About a month ago, Shelli Gardner, the CEO and Co-Founder of Stamin' Up! was in a serious accident while riding her horse... she's an avid horse rider and lover and often shares her stories with us. We have had her in our prayers for a quick recovery and of course know she is getting an overflow of get well cards from all her Demonstrators. Well us Rubba Sista's wanted to wish her well but you know me... can't do anything normal...

So after one of our Demonstrators meetings last month, a few of us stopped by Hobby Lobby (ok true confessions)... and saw some scrapbooking stickers on sale... well I couldn't resist... had to get them to make the perfect get-well card to send to Shelli.... hope she doesn't "fire" us for not using SU products!

So one evening last week PK2 and I got together and created this card ..... we just hope it makes her giggle and get well too!

It's got a slight glare on it so hope you can read it....
"No more Horsing Around".....

Of course with the SU Angel policy,
we always indicate the SU logo. on the back.... so we did that..
plus took it a step further....

Here's to a very special
(and honestly sincere)
Get Well Wish to Shelli!

Allen's Ceramic Pieces

Also last Saturday, Allen brought a few of his ceramic pieces he made over the summer to show us. He's working on some professional pictures of them for a Website he's working on and hoping to get these out on the market to sell... they are just exquisite and absolutely beautiful.....I tried several angles so you could see the detail on many of them... of course my pictures don't do them justice...

And he has a gazillion more.... plus more platters and mugs....
let me know if you're interested...
and of course as soon as his website is up and running
I'll be sharing that with you too.

Love you Allen...
you are definitely blessed by God with
such talent and creativity!

Popsicles & Potatoes

You-know-who, the yellow Popsicle lover Brayden, was over on Saturday and we had another awesome day together.David and Holly came down; and Allen buzzed over too later in the day and we had such a nice family afternoon together.

First thing of course Brayden wanted to go swimming in the new shark swim suit I got him... take a look at at how patient he is with me taking his pictures just so he can go swimming.... of course he is a little ham and still wants to see all the pictures I take of him as soon as I snap them...

after I took that he said....
here, take a picture of my foot....

after our swim we sat in the sun for a few minutes to dry out..
mr. silly is at the stage where he's obsessed with sticking out his tongue...

but take a closer look at this, my favorite..
it's his toes he doesn't even realize he's curling up that makes it soooo cute!!!

finally the reward.... the infamous yellow Popsicle!

We did some swinging on "the playground" as he calls it
and ordered pizza for dinner....

After dinner, Brayden did some digging with Grandpa in his garden...
they harvested all the little potatoes we had...
and Brayden was soo proud and excited to
gather them up and take them home....

Both adorable farmers share a special moment here...

This picture is worth a thousand words...

words of love and gratitude...
I do believe he has some "farmer Jerry" in his blood...
guess time will tell to see about that.
