Stampin' Up! 2013 Convention

Well I just returned from Stampin' Up's Convention held in Salt Lake City where we celebrated their 25th Anniversary .... and I am overflowing with gratitude for having been able to participate in such an incredible event!

The Theme this year was Be The Difference......because we believe that one person can make a difference in the lives of others.... and that's for everyone, not just Demonstrators. It doesn't mean we have to do big elaborate things; so many times those small gestures make such a big difference.. a smile, a wink, a hug or word of encouragement.. and of course we know that hand stamped note or card can be huge! These things don't take a lot of time or effort, but the impact they have is significant.. and we all want to have an impact on others.

I attended Convention with two of my Downlines, Lynette and Pat (aka PK1).. and we had a blast! We arrived on Wednesday afternoon and had a wonderful relaxing dinner at PF Chang's before all the festivities began the next day.

Pat and I stayed at the Hilton so on our walk
back to our room, we tried to get a shot of ourselves....
can you tell we were cracking up..
this is about the best one we got...

The sun doesn't set until close to 9pm
so was great to have those extra hours of daylight to enjoy....
Finally here is the first sun set....
take from our  hotel room window.

The Convention didn't officially begin until Thursday evening,
but that morning they offered Bus Tours to their
Riverton Campus offices...
Here's me and Lynette waiting in
the first of many long lines for the day....

When we arrived, we were first greeted by several of
the employees...

We first walked out to the front drivewy to get some
shots of their Entrance garden....

Their facilities are beautiful and decorated for us
with banners made from the fun new In Colors

Looking down into the lower level inside garden....

Going through the warehouse, we got to actually see some of the
orders being picked, boxed and shipped....
(ya gotta remember this started in Shelli's own garage 25 years ago!)

We even got to wander their conference rooms,
converted for us into display and idea rooms...
and even went through the
Demonstrator Support area where we
saw cubicles of those on the "the other end" of the line
are when we call in with our questions and orders....

Look how cute they get to decorate their desks!!!!
(guess what they get to do on their lunch breaks???)

They had so many displays of work theme messages
and encouragement for their employees....

and of course the wall of clocks so they
know what time it is when they get calls
from their International Demonstrators

Here's Josh... super popular guy when you call in..
he was sooo funny and great to see in person....

Another gal, busy working still while we
wandered around.... most of the others
were out on the floor helping escort us
through the tour..

I couldn't help but stop and take a few shots of their
Employee bulletin board.. where they post birthdays and anniversaries .....
look at these awesome July theme ideas....
(wouldn't ya love to be the one to have this job???)

My very favorite was being able to go through the
Legacy Museum and Idea Room......
just amazing..... and of course
these pictures do not do it justice....

Beginning with the Stampin' Up Statement of the Heart....

The Museum section displayed a gob of old photos
of Shelli and her family just starting the business...
and the original office... before they expanded and
had to build this beautiful facility...

Some of the first original artwork and molding sheets...

Original first stamps and cards...

Then we went through "the home" where each room
was individually decorated...
starting with the little girls bedroom...

Next, the living room, all ready with Christmas ideas!

Inside a display hutch, each shelf had adorable
ideas with various themes...
sorry for the window glare on each...
but just look closely and see how each was jam-packed full of ideas..

Dining room with framed chalk artwork....

And of course a beautiful decorated dining room table...

My favorite Chalk framed artwork...

Check out this stamp craft room... jealous???
I am!

Did ya notice the lamb even????
I understand you can find these at Target then fill with whatever you please...
in this case, retired alphabet wood stamps!! perfect!

If that wasn't even... here's the Sewing room....

Lastly, the Library.. or in this case
the exit Thank You room.....

Stay turned tomorrow and I'll show you some incredible
pictures from the actual Convention...
not to mention the gazillion fabulous ideas you're gonna see!
