Turkey & Tradition!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration this past long weekend! The weather was fantastic, the food was phenomenon, the family and friends fantastic! We spent actual Thanksgiving Day up at the Jr Reed Ranch in Murrieta... with Brayden and the bunch!

I only got a few shots throughout the day but sure came home with some great memories!

The table awaits....

The host and hostess and little mr. hostee

Don an Jerry enjoying conversation and appetizers..

Brayden waiting for his cousin to show up....

Brian and Charlotta, and Mattis, join in the festivities....
telling us all about their new home they just bought,
escrow closes today so they are probably ready to pry open those paint
cans and start in on the real fun!

Everyone gets in on the act... Allen is getting his dish prepared
and David keeps checking in on that big bird in the oven....

Grandfather and Grandma D playing with Brayden and Mattis

We love how the boys get along so well...
Here Brayden is playing doggie and convincing Mattis to take him for a walk....
see the dog leash he is wearing....

So off they go....

Mattis thinks that's pretty cool... what a great doggie!

Think the bird is finally done!!!
David giving his final test of approval...
thus begins "the turkey" part of the day...

Didn't quite fit everyone in the picture but we had a full table!

Brayden quickly is ready for dessert....

patiently waiting....

Grandma's lap is good for a few minutes....

Wow.. Grandpa Jerry likes a little pie with his whipped cream!

Now comes the "tradition" part of the day....
Years ago Holly started this tradition that on Thanksgiving
we make a Gingerbread House .....
Brayden had been soooo eager to work on this..
he's had it for several days and even had to Skype me the other
night to show me the Kit... he wanted to make it then and there!

So out comes all the pieces and assembly begins... of course
the hardest part was helping him understand that all the candy
was for decorating...

Uncle Allen became the icing (glue) master and got
all the pieces together...

And of course keeping the icing going steady took some effort!
I love how Brayden again is so patient and watching...
of course you notice is mouth is full of candy.. so that helps...
one for me, one for you, one for me, one for you....

putting on finishing touches front and back...

Brayden made a beautiful gummy bear tree in the front...

Think that about does it for this year....

well done Allen the CIO..
Chief Icing Officer...

.. and Brayden the CEO..
Chief Eating Officer...

Another Thanksgiving with much to be Thankful for!
