Crazy Card Club for March

Where did March go?  I don't know either, but here's the collection I've received thus far from my Crazy Card Club sweeties..... this month's theme was "Go Wild"... in other words... make whatever you'd like!

Laura's card was amazing...
she embossed a gold butterfly on a magazine picture...
the photo doesn't do it justice... ya just gotta see it!

This one is mine.. I made it to match my pop up card box::

Also from last couple month, I didn't get to show Robin's cards...
January's vintage and February baby card...

And somewhere along the way I
missed Wanda's sweet Thank You card...
check it out!

You girls cease to amaze me!

Golden Rules for Living

Golden Rules for Living

If you open it, close it.
If you turn it on, turn it off.
If you unlock it, lock it up.
If you break it, admit it.
If you can't fix it, call in someone who can.
If you borrow it, return it.
If you value it, take care of it.
If you make a mess clean it up.
If you move it, put it back.
If it belongs to someone else and
you want to use, get permission.
If you don't know how to operate it,
leave it alone.
If it's none of your business,
don't ask questions.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If it will brighten someone's day, say it.
If it will tarnish someone's reputation,
keep it to yourself.

or here's another version

If you sleep on it...make it up.
If you wear it...hang it up.
If you drop it...pick it up.
If you eat out of it...wash it up.
If you step on it...wipe it up.
If you turn it on...turn it off.
If you open it...close it.
If you empty it...fill it up.
If it howls...feed it.
If it cries...love it."

Happy Birthday Noah!

Wow Noah... I can't believe it... 18 years ago today and it seems time stood still... I can vividly remember skipping down the hospital hallway with Caleb who was saying "I have a new little brother!"..... and now we have all the wonderful memories that are tucked in between that day and this.... God has blessed us all with your wonderful life.

May your day be filled with love and laughter and your years ahead be filled with gifts from God.

Love Grandma Gail

PS.... remember the birthday we celebrated downtown at Hard Rock Cafe and you stood up on the table top with Jimmy Hendrix guitar while the entire restaurant sang Happy Birthday to you... wow... seems like yesterday!

PPS... and remember the gazillion times driving to Disneyland eating our traditional white powdered donuts????

PPSS... and best of all don't forget today.... and the memories we're gonna make!

Stamping Fire Fighters!

This week on SU's blog one of their Office Demonstrators had a feature story about the Fire Fighters in Station 83 in Murray Utah.... thought it was super cute so wanted to share it with you:

Firefighters: Great Cooks and Fabulous Stampers

You may have heard that firefighters are great cooks, but they are also fabulous stampers . . . at least the crew at Station 83 in Murray, Utah is! Recently I was invited to stop by the station to stamp Valentine’s Day cards with them.

I’ve stamped with this crew before so I knew it would be a fun night. I was looking forward to sharing stamping with them again. The battalion chief and one of the cadets joined us this time, too.

This is the card I brought for them to make.

Here they all are holding their completed cards.

Before we got to the stamping, the crew prepared a delicious meal featuring smoked brisket. So, you can take it from me—they ARE great cooks . . . as well as FABULOUS stampers!

Paper Pumpkin Pizzazz

SU's Paper Pumpkin monthly club is still going strong.... here's some pics of cards that CEO Shelli Gardner made from the March kit. The whole idea, of course, is that you can quickly and easily create a fun project, without the stress of thinking up the project and gathering the supplies.

If you're like me (and apparently Shelli too) you'd rather come up with your own ideas and just use the supplies provided... maybe just change up a color palette or add a layer or switch out an accessory... you get the idea!

There's always room to add a little Pizzazz!

Garden Party!

I felt like I was at a Garden Party this Saturday.... had several gals over for my little Workshop Class on how to make a card in a box..... I can't even describe to you how much fun we had just "creating" our little flower gardens... take a look at these beauties...

 First my two sample ideas....

The gals made a larger box using
Secret Garden flowers & dies
with the Watercolor Wonder DSP

Then they made one smaller garden
with Dots and Daisy's!

I love how Sarah embellished her Daisy & Dots box
with the multi-layer butterflies...

Love You garden by Susan!

Robin rocks with Daffodil Delight Dots...

Shutter Shy Laura's garden box...

Kendra kicks it up a notch...

Jean no sooner was done with hers and she already had in mind
who she was giving it away to.. that's just the kind of heart she has...
she made a "congratulations" garden for her
friend that just landed a new job

Suzie brilliantly doubled up her tangerine pansy petals
to create more of a poppy look ....

Having way too much fun...

PK1 and her adorable polk-a-party
(btw it was Pat's brilliant creation that gave me
the inspiration to host this class!)
Plus she helped so much by preparing most of the flower cut outs..
AND she gave everyone the white picket fences to use too..
an absolutely perfect addition!

PK2 is precious
Look how she lined her garden with the picket fence...
shortly thereafter everyone did the same.
Excellent idea!

Somehow I missed getting Kathy into the picture with her box garden..
she did an incredible job on both...

I love how Cheryl changed it up and used the
"zig zag" pattern rather than the flower print

Thanks girls for such a fun day!

Spring has Sprung!

So did ya balance an egg on it's end yesterday? ... The first day of Spring is one of two days each year you can do that...... when the sun shines directly on the equator and the length of day and night is nearly equal, thus the term equinox. So why does the balancing act work? Apparently this derives from the notion that due to the sun's equidistant position between the poles of the earth at the time of the equinox, special gravitational forces apply. So same is true on the first day of Fall.

Equinox Stand Eggs on End

Skeptical? Well, Einstein was skeptical, and maybe you are too. While it's true that on both the spring and the fall equinox the earth's axis is perpendicular to the sun, making day and night of equal length, there's no scientific reason to suppose that such an alignment exerts any perceptible effect on solid objects here on earth. Plus, if the equinox can cause this curious gravitational anomaly, why not others? Why don't we see people standing pencils, lollipops, and foot-long hot dogs on end on the first day of spring? Why just eggs?

At the risk of being boiled or scrambled...
I daresay there is more to life than science.
It's called faith.

Besides, what fun is that just questioning it all...
just be child-like and have fun and try it!

I dare ya.. in fact I double-dog dare ya!

Paperville!

What a great name for a blog.. Paperville!... and why is it that I'm always attacked to brown and blue together??? just love this look!

  • This is a 5" x 5" square card;  stamp the Pleasant Poppies set in Versamark on Early Espresso, then embossed with Pool Party embossing powder.
  • The early espresso layer is 4 1/2" square, then cut the image into 1 1/2" squares and mounted them on another piece of early espresso with dimensionals.
  • Add Pool Party button with early espresso bakers twine, along with a sentiment from Teeny TIny Wishes stamped in early espresso on pool party.
A very simple card with a great impact!

G'Day From Down Under!

G'day Mates! I love that you can find Stampin' Up all over the globe! Here's an adorable post by Heather Summers from Australia... look how she indicates supplies used to make the card, along with the written instructions in 5 easy steps.... I should be so organized!

Using the music note DSP along with her sewing machine... she came up with a wonderful tune... Enjoy a Little Music! Love how just a smidge of Modern Medley DSP peeks behind the Very Vanilla on the top layer.
