Clever Idea!

Here's a great idea... a super easy way to create a pull out card ... just use a sealed envelope and punch out the top with a circle punch.  You only use about 2/3 to 1/2 of the circle.  Cute, cute, cute!

Is that clever or what?

Nuttin' Better than Autumn!

Well, there's Nuttin' Better than a new season... we're getting ready for Fall! And here's a darling gift set Lynn Put created using a Recycle theme... that's my favorite when I can use leftovers or "trash" and create something brand new.... Lynn is not affiliated with SU so her stamps and products are unidentified... but she does use alot of the SU colors and cardstocks... see there's really none better!

The challenge was to create a project with texture, something with either herringbone, tweed, burlap, felt, corduroy, houndstooth or argyle along with using something resalvaged/recycled on your card or project.

So she used cardboard, the corrugated banner and die cut border on the card and the corrugated cardboard tag for the matching gift jar.  She also embossed the SU herringbone pattern into the background panel and used an Autumn color palette using Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Really Rust and Old Olive.

Well, that's it in a nut shell!

Papillon Potpourri

You guys loving the new Butterfly Punch? At first I was disappointed that the old "rounded" version retired... and thought the new updated butterfly was a bit fancy.. but I'm really liking it now...

Take a look at a couple of cards that Lesley Croghan created.. so simple, yet so elegant.. this first one is made using Basic Black along with the River Rock cardstock.... it's usually hard to find a card that works with that but this one sure does! The butterflies are adorned with dazzling diamonds.. just perfect for a wedding card! The white part of the center panel is embossed as well to add some texture.

And here's another sample using the Butterfly Punch
along with the matching Papillon Potpourri stamp set

She used Midnight Muse, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise and Soft Suede.

Notice how using the Edglit die adds some interest and texture...
I think I'd go more nuts and pop up all the
butterflies and add some glitter!!
But then that's just me!!
