Half Moon Bay or Bust!

Once we pulled out of Monterey, we set the dial to Half Moon Bay... our next destination... less than a two hour drive..... we stayed at Zaballa House which was yet another wonderful B&B in the center of "town".... built in 1855 and is the oldest house still standing in Half Moon Bay. Filled with charm and history... was the perfect resting spot for us after a fun filled packed day!

The next morning we took advantage of the wonderful
Breakfast provided in the living and dining rooms...

Before we checked out....
gift #3 for day #3.....
Starbucks and coffee mugs!!!

Here we are with the owner Jill who made the wonderful quiches for breakfast..
she is a retired middle school teacher...
her and her husband bought Zaballa House over 30 years ago...
she runs the house.. he is the town historian and a lot of that shows throughout the house....
a must see if you're up that way!

Do I need to say it..... ok...
"On the Road Again"......
this time headed toward Santa Cruz to find some
antique shops we heard about...

Half Moon Bay is home of famous Mavericks Beach
where they have many large surfing competitions..
we didn't make it to Mavericks (starts with a T)....
but we did stop at Pescadero's.....

We finally found the Antique shops in Santa Cruz....
I could have spent an entire day there... but we didn't....

From there we head inland....
next destination Gilroy... Garlic Capitol of the World....
and tomorrow going to the Annual Garlic Festival...
wooo hooo... me and Melissa can't wait!
(we're the foodies of the bunch)
