BFFs, Sandbox and Gate Keeper

What a wonderful weekend! Ya sure can tell it's summertime when you smell the BBQs going in the neighborhood! And Saturday our's was pippin' hot... that's cuz Jerry was cookin' some smokin' BBQ chicken for some friends we had over.

Kendra and Mike, Pam and Brian and Evie and Svend joined us for a BBQ potluck.. it was a perfect afternoon with great friends, food and fun! We sat around chatting and just spending some relaxing time together... ya know it's good to get the men together every so often too... and that we did!

Evie made this incredible Strawberry Triffle dessert.. yum.... now doesn't this look like "summer"  ... actually it looks like something out of Martha Stewart's Magazine!!!...

And here's a shot I got of the motley crew...

...then Brian trades with me to take this one.... just having too much fun!

Then on Sunday afternoon Jerry and I went up to the kids place in Murietta as David was putting up a small divider fence in his back yard to separate their pond from wandering little ones...... btw did I ever show you the pond??... David made this himself... a handyman I'd say..... a chip off the old block I think... or maybe it's more like "the nut doesn't fall far from the tree".... And they have these three GIANT coi fish in them... wow they've grown since the last time I saw them...Brayden calls them Nemos... oh yes and Crush is there too.. their water turtle... it was harder to get his picture ..... can ya see them?

And here's the guys hard at work...

and it did work... !!!

So me and Holly supervised while Brayden played in his sandbox in the back yard...  this "sand" stuff is pretty new to him.... still couldn't quite understand why this "ball" would just disappear when he picked it up... hummm.....

For his birthday Brayden got a Thomas the Train Bubble Blower.. just too cute..
and he's pretty mesmerized by it... there must have been hundreds of bubbles all around him...

And of course some playing time inside too... again, a gazillion toys all around.. and what's his favorite... dad's shoelace.... kinda like the cardboard box story...

every day is filled with cuddlin' with mom.... he was just too cute giving kisses..

Like I said.. it was a wonderful weekend... with a perfect ending!!!

Bye Bye Brayden... see you in my dreams!
