Pool Party and Peek-a-Boo

Last Saturday I got to babysit Brayden for a good part of the day. Holly had a baby shower to go to and David had plans to go golfing with a friend... yippee... I love it when their schedules conflict.. hee hee hee... so it was a great  opportunity to spend some alone time with my little one....

Who said boy's clothes aren't cute... I just love all the plaid outfits Brayden has... doesn't he look like a little golfer himself in this one...  green plaid pants.. gotta love 'em!

We played with toys about an hour before he was wearing down already.... so fed him a little lunch and bottle.. then down for a nap... oh and he's not on Formula any longer so that's way easy... BUT kinda sad at the same time... means he's growing up way tooooo fast!!!

I had plans to take him to the park for some time, but I also wanted to get him into the pool as it was such a beautiful day out.. plus Jerry's been working on getting our solar hooked back up so the water was about 80 degrees... ahhh perfect...

A couple weeks ago while walking the aisles at Sears, Jerry and I found some pool toys and got Brayden a baby floating boat with canopy... more like just a little seat so he can float around... I thought it would work out great as I remember my boys had something similar... Coupled with the fact that he loves his bath time and splashing water in his face doesn't bother  him at all, in fact he seems to love it.. figured the pool would be a piece of cake...

Wrong. He was ok in the pool... but not as excited as I thought he would be... perhaps it was the size of such a large "bathtub" that overwhelmed him... but we had fun playing Motorboat Motorboat go so Fast... Motorboat Motorboat step on the Gas... The only bummer being alone with him... I couldn't get pictures of us in the pool! So here he is right after we got out...

I didn't realize how long we were in the pool.... as by the time we got out, dripped dried off and then went to change clothes... it was already 4pm and was expecting everyone back home.. so we missed going to the park!!!.....

He loves playing Peek-a-Boo.... around any corner or under a blanket or behind the couch... here he is thinking he's such a sneaky guy....

And of course he loves the stairs... and since grandma's house isn't "baby proof".... the cupboards are easy access... hummm.. now where does she keep those Cheerios????

Allen showed up as we all planned to meet up for his birthday...

Then David got back from golfing.. and Holly made it home... so we went to Outback for birthday dinner...It was nice just visiting with the kids and relaxing... good to spend time with Allen as we just don't get to enough.. maybe with summer here now and him out of school we can do it more often.

Brayden has no only graduated to real "milk" but to table food too.... he loves sharing Holly's sweet potato and even had some little bites of chicken... but still a continual stream of Cheerios... Have Cheerios Will Travel....

After dinner the Allen went home, but the kids came back to the house for a few more minutes before they hit the road back home.... I tried to get some pictures of Brayden with David for Father's Day... but he was just too full of energy to sit still long enough...  of course he get's tickled to death by "dad" when he gets near the stairs.. so it becomes a game....

After about 39 tries with "dad".... it only took two shots with "grandpa" to get a good one...

It was a great day... and perfect ending to celebrate Father's Day too!
