Brayden's Day at the Park!

I was so tickled last Friday as I got to take the day off work and stay home to watch Brayden so David could come down and work with Jerry. We had a blast of course and I convinced "daddy" that it would be easy for him to spend the night too so they could pick him up on Saturday on their way to a graduation party they were going to in the area.

So of course when he first got there.. David sets Brayden down and off he goes... walking!! Totally all over the place... it was so fun to see! And you know I always have my camera near by whenever Brayden is around... and got some really cute shots of him...  here's his first steps at "grandma's"...

Just had to get a "self portrait" of us together after this monumental occasion!
Such a proud moment fer sure!

So we sat and played a little bit.. with his Winnie The Pooh airplane and blocks..

After a quick lunch of sweet potatoes and apples, we took off for Hillary Park where they have a great playground for both little kids and big. It wasn't busy at all since it was during school hours... he wasn't too crazy about the swings or slides... not sure if it was the "height" or just the fact that we wanted his feet on the ground to run around everywhere!

He loved hanging out at the "drums".... they're really little seats or stepping platforms but he was just too cute ... like he was playing the drums and singing... think he's getting his mama's talent already...

The park is like a pirate theme... so here I got a cute shot
of him through the porthole of the "ship" playing peek-a-boo

But must admit his favorite part was just walking all around
and picking up leaves...
and rocks...
and sticks...
and more sticks...
and more leaves...

He attempted to climb the ladder but those little legs just are still too short...

We stayed nearly two hours... went back home for a nap. Had some dinner and went back to the park again that evening for another hour or more... He loved watching the other kids, running around and playing, and amazed by all the activity and excitement.

We watched several kids play soccer on the field next to the park... we must have stood there at least 20 minutes solid just watching.. he loved it. Once the sun started to set we thought it was time to head back home ....

We got back home to tell grandpa what a great time we had!

Then..... bathtime!!! I think he's saying...
are they gonna put me in that little kitchen sink again???

Whew... after bath it was a few more minutes of playtime....
and story book reading...

Need I mention he slept nearly 12 hours straight Friday night...
think I found the secret to tucker him out.
